Shrunken Human Heads
Heads
of slain enemies shrunken to the size of a man's fist by the Jivaro Indians
of eastern Ecuador and Peru, were kept as trouphies and used in certain
cerimonies. Often the lips were sewed together in the belief that this
would prevent the victim from harming his slayer. |
