Caption:	Interior of Lincolin Memorial, Washington, DC The statue of Lincoln by Daniel C. French is in the central hall while smaller halls at each end of the central space contain the Second Inaugural and the Gettysburg Address. Surrounding the the walls, in casing these memorials, is a colonade of 36 columns, one for each of the 36 states in the Union at the time of Lincoln's death.
