This
suspension bridge connects Lewiston on the American side with Queenstown
on the Canadian side, and was opened for traffic in July 1899. It is 1050
feet in length and 60 feet above the water. This is the only suspension
bridge spanning the river, all others being either on the arch or cantilever
principal.
