Most people think of postcards as an easy way to communicate with friends while on a trip. An interesting photo on one side of the card, and room for a short message on the back. Eventually, there will be more than just mileage between you and the sender of the card, there will be time. When nearly a century has passed since that postcard was printed, even your own hometown can become strange and exotic.Post cards often show interesting locations, historic occasions, or just a scenic view. Whatever the topic, they can provide a window that shows a frozen moment from a distant time. The people in vintage clothing are like ghosts, stepping out from the past to show you their world. There is a strange fascination seeing places you know well, looking completely different. This is a view of Rochester, New York, as seen through that window on the past.
