This a Stereograph or stereo view card. This card contains two nearly
identical photographs. When viewed through a special viewer, your brain
is tricked into seeing a lifelike three-dimensional image. During the Victorian
Age these view cards were extremely popular. From their beginnings in 1850
Stereographs were used to show every imaginable topic. These Stereographs
are from the Robert Dennis Collection of Stereoscopic Views at the New
York Public Library. I have taken only a single image from each set. If
